Shortly after Renata's death, Linguini manages to get hired in Gusteau's restaurant as a garbage clerk and goes establishment's kitchen for his first day of work.
So, one of the cooks, Larousse, present it to the Chef, Skinner, to whom he gives a letter from Renata, who hoped that he could be hired at their home.
